SNACS Students Publish Books
Literacy transforms lives! Our annual Author’s Debut at Barnes and Noble is Saturday, March 10, 2018. All students from birth through eighth grade have published books. All students from birth through second grade have made a class book. All students from third through eighth grade will launch their individual books at their debut. Published books will be released for viewing for the first time during the event. SNACS Caldecott Medals will be awarded to first, second, and third place by category/class.
The books will be debuted at each student’s designated signing time. Photographers will capture the moment as a forever keepsake as students sign their book. Books will be available for public viewing on a rotating basis following each class’ signing.
Simultaneously, students will be providing other literacy entertainment such as readers theater, book talks, and musicals. Please see the schedule below for specific times. However, come as early as you are able as the entire day is a celebration of literacy, writing, and anything books!
Additionally, we will be recording and taking photos for SNACS social media. Be ready SNACS 5-star students! There will be several news crews onsite to cover the event and we are filming a fresh SNACS commercial. We ask anyone who is requested to be on camera to portray the love for literacy, our small school community, and how personalized learning has helped students grow to be writers, readers, and love books!
Students are reminded to follow the dress requirements and ALWAYS show SNACS PRIDE in 5-star behavior. Families be reminded that we want students excited in a safe manner. Elevators and escalators are not toys and students must walk when in the store. Although it is fun, this is not an event for tag or hide-n-seek. We are guests at Barnes and Noble and expect everyone to be a 5-star leader. School rules apply.
The general public is invited to attend and may purchase books to help our classrooms, new Fox library, and the future Fox container library. Provide a voucher (inside B & N at the SNACS welcome table) and SNACS will receive a portion of all sales in funds to support books in our classrooms and libraries. Books purchased online may also apply.
