A joyful, confident start to learning

SNACS Preschool gives young children a safe, caring place to explore, build friendships, and develop the early skills that support a successful transition to kindergarten.

Through play, hands-on discovery, routines, creative expression, and caring relationships, children learn how to participate in a classroom community, communicate their needs, make choices, and grow in confidence. Our educators understand that every child develops at their own pace—and that the early years should feel welcoming, engaging, and full of possibility.

What your child can expect

A strong start for young learners

Starting preschool is a big step for children and families. At SNACS, young learners are encouraged to feel comfortable, capable, and excited to come to school.

Your child will have opportunities to explore new ideas, practice everyday skills, build friendships, and learn through meaningful experiences. Our goal is to help children develop a love of learning while gaining the confidence and independence that support a smooth transition into kindergarten.

Engaged learning through play

Young children learn by doing. Through guided activities, learning centers, stories, art, conversation, movement, and hands-on exploration, children can ask questions, make discoveries, and practice new skills in ways that are developmentally appropriate.

Caring routines and relationships

Predictable routines help children know what to expect and feel secure during the school day. Teachers support children as they learn to follow directions, communicate with others, share space and materials, and build positive relationships.

Confidence for the next step

Preschool is about more than preparing for a future grade level. It is a time for children to grow in confidence, curiosity, independence, and connection—skills that help them thrive in kindergarten and beyond.

Learning through choice, play, and discovery

At SNACS, play is a meaningful part of learning. Children learn when they explore, create, collaborate, ask questions, and try new things.

Our early-learning environment is designed to support growth across important areas of development, including:

Early language and literacy

Children build communication skills through stories, songs, conversations, drawing, dramatic play, and opportunities to share their ideas. These early experiences help children grow their vocabulary, listening skills, and interest in books and language.

Early math and problem-solving

Counting, sorting, building, comparing, measuring, noticing patterns, and solving everyday problems help children begin developing foundational math-thinking skills.

Social-emotional growth

Children practice naming feelings, taking turns, sharing, making choices, solving small problems, and building friendships. Teachers help children learn how to participate in a caring classroom community.

Creativity, movement, and expression

Art, music, sensory experiences, imaginative play, outdoor movement, and hands-on materials give children many ways to express themselves and explore the world around them.

What a preschool day may include

A day built around learning, routines, and connection

Every classroom and day may look a little different, but preschool students can expect a balance of teacher-guided learning, child-led discovery, movement, play, routines, and time to connect with others.

A typical Pre-K day:

  • A welcoming arrival routine
  • Learning centers and hands-on exploration
  • Storytime, songs, and language activities
  • Early literacy and math experiences
  • Art, sensory play, or creative projects
  • Outdoor movement or active play
  • Snack and meal routines, when applicable
  • Small-group or individual teacher support
  • Classroom clean-up, transitions, and social-emotional learning
  • Family communication about important updates, milestones, or needs

Preparing for kindergarten

Building skills for a confident transition

Kindergarten readiness includes academic skills, but it also includes confidence, communication, independence, curiosity, and the ability to participate in a learning community.

For families considering SNACS Kindergarten, preschool provides a chance to become familiar with the broader SNACS community and explore the next step in their child’s education.
