Household & Income

Your household and income information helps SNACS review grant eligibility. Please follow the household and income instructions provided below. If you are unsure what to include, select the assistance option below rather than guessing.

Household Definition:

A household consists of two or more persons who reside together and are related by birth, marriage (including step-relationships and domestic partnerships), or adoption.

Countable Income

Eligibility is based on total gross income (before taxes or deductions) from all household members. This includes wages, salaries, tips, self-employment earnings, child support, alimony, unemployment, Social Security, and disability benefits. It excludes non-cash benefits like SNAP.

Income Period

Income is evaluated based on the most recent 30 consecutive days prior to the application date. For seasonal or fluctuating income, the previous calendar year’s federal tax return may be used.

Acceptable Verification Documents

Applicants must provide proof of household size and one of the following to verify income: • Consecutive pay stubs covering the last 30 days. • W-2 forms or the most recent Federal Tax Return (Form 1040). • Official benefit award letters (Social Security, Child Support, Unemployment, or TANF). • Employer-signed letter on company letterhead stating hours worked and wage rate.

Nevada Ready! State Pre-K serves eligible children who turn four on or before August 1. The published household income limit is at or below 250% of the Federal Poverty Level. SNACS will review your information and supporting documents to determine eligibility and next steps.
